The first trimesters can be a scary time for some women, but a study has found that those with a healthy pregnancy can also avoid miscarriage.
The study, which looked at more than 7,000 women with first trumps in the United States, found that women with healthy pregnancies had a rate of miscarriage that was just three per cent lower than those who had miscarried their first trues.
While the results are encouraging, the researchers cautioned that more research is needed before any firm conclusions can be drawn.
Dr Srinivasan said he is not surprised by the findings.
“The main reason is because of the low rates of miscarriage,” he said.
“There are very few women who can have a pregnancy without a miscarriage.”
Dr Synan said it was not the first time he had studied miscarriages.
“I studied the first trays in women who had had their first pregnancy, and the rate was very low.
I have seen the same thing, and that is when the first two trays are miscarried,” he explained.”
But I also know that when you are having a normal pregnancy and you have a normal birth weight, the miscarriage rate is very low.”
Dr Paul Wiggin, who is also from the University of New South Wales, said women should be careful about their choices during the first weeks of pregnancy.
“If you do decide to have a baby, I think it’s very important to understand that there are some very real risks associated with having a first tranche of a baby,” he told AAP.
“You can have an infection, you can get cancer, you might be allergic to some of the chemicals in the womb, you could even have complications like miscarriage.”
He said the risks of miscarriage were different for different people.
“Women who have had a normal number of miscarriages might have a lot of things going on in their body that may increase the risk of miscarriage.
So, if you have some problems with your metabolism, or you have had any other problem with your body that has made it harder for you to keep your pregnancy going, you may have a higher chance of miscarriage.”
While Dr Wigin is not against abortion, he does not recommend it for people who are already pregnant.
“As a general rule, it’s not a safe choice to have an abortion.
It’s not safe at all, it could have a very negative effect on your mental health, and it’s probably not worth having an abortion,” he added.”
So it’s a matter of weighing up the pros and cons.”
