A woman has died after being struck by a car while using the bathroom in a North Shore suburb.
The collision happened at about 3:00pm (AEDT) at the intersection of South Terrace and North Terrace, a police spokeswoman said.
She said it was a “mild but serious collision” involving a car.
“Police have been in contact with the family and the ambulance was called at approximately 4:00am,” she said.
The woman, who was not known to police, died at the scene.
No charges have been laid.
The intersection of Terrace Road and North Road has been closed since Friday, with the road reopened at 4:30pm on Saturday.
The road was closed for several hours in March after a motorcyclist collided with a car and died.
Police say they are investigating whether the crash was a case of careless driving.
The coroner’s office will determine the cause of death.
The driver of the car, a male, was treated at the crash scene and taken to hospital for a medical examination.
He has since been released, the spokeswoman said, adding that the investigation was ongoing.
